Default Older C4s: How do you remove the sliding ***** from the A/C-Heater console?

1985, non-electronic AC.

I tried yankin' em every which way, but they don't budge, or come loose at all. Do these come off? I don't see any clips, like on some cars, or like on the headlight ****.

I'm trying to get behind the panels, so that I can red/blue tint the lighting on some parts, to match the stereo, and rest of the car. I think all the white lights and text there are overkill at night.

Nevermind...

When yankin' don't work, just yank harder. It'll come off one way or the other.

I'll post pics when I get it put back together.
