Default upgrading wheels

So I purchased a 84 c4 as u know they come through with 255/50/16 tires, I purchased a set of American racing rebl wheels 18"x9" front 18"x10" rear, along with the purchase the gentleman threw in 2 new 275/35/18's for the front. My question is would u put the same size in the rear or go to a 295. and if I was to get two more 275/35/18s would they look fine on the rear even though the rear rims are an inch wider.what are your thoughts. thanks

I not real good on 84 wheels, But you may want to check and see if what you bough will fit. I think at a min you are going to need some spacers. Some others that know 84 wheel issuses should chim in

You don't mention the offset of the wheels which is the more important issue presently. If the wheels are "Rebels" then the only offsets in some of their information sites show the 9" @ 25 and the 10" @ 41 - if those are what you've purchased you're I'd say OK for wheels with no spacers. The front wheels (only) will be pushed out by a bit maybe 3/8" and the rear wheel (only)pushed out by less than 1/4". Inner clearances I'd say are OK.

How the tires "size up" - a 275/35-18 is spec'd towards a 9.5 so the front is 1/2" short of spec and the rear 1/2" beyond spec but the RIM WIDTH RANGE is generally 9" - 11" - brand may change those #'s. I'd think you'll need to mount and see how pleased you are with the appearance. Buy local and make it understood that you need to check BUT you mention the seller tossed in 2 so mount one on each of the wheels and check.

What brand did he "toss in"?
