anyone using an aluminum flywheel?
heres a question for those using an aluminum flywheel. I was told they make noise when you have the car in neutral with the clutch out.Ok I can deal with that.But do you hear gear noise under acceleration? or any other time for that matter.I do.....I hear it when I am cruising along and my rpm is around2000 and as I step on the gas I hear the same gear type noise I hear when the car is in neutral. I just want to know if this is to be expected

Yes, I have noise. It's not quite as loud. More noticable when I'm lazy and take a turn in 3rd gear! :lol: The ol' timers hear my car in neutral and think my transmission is about to fall out...they just don't understand! :crazy:

I have one. Yes, I do get a some gear noise when accelerating in low RPM ranges (<1500). Since that's something you normally don't do, it's not an issue for me. I usually only notice it in the split second after starting off in 1st.

Yup- I have some gear rattle while idling in neutral. Also the top gear sounds nasty when it gets under a little stress...like going up a hill. I was getting 6 degrees of false knock when I would first nail the gas and as I stayed in it the knock would quickly return back to 0..... I narrowed it down to my flywheel/clutch combo....but I since then fixed it and have learned to deal with the noise.
