as some of you may know i'm in the process of replacing/repairing a cracked right manifold on my 89. well i was thinking maybe i'll just get new manifolds to put on. will any manifolds from 84-91 fit on my cars engine? i talked to a local corvette shop and he said no, but another mechanic told me it should work as most of the manifolds for GM small blocks are very similar.
can someone provide some insight to this?
i did find manifolds for my 89 just figured i might be able to get some cheaper that are for a different year vette.
The stock exhaust manifolds from a '88-91 L98 should fit as they all had the D-ported #113 casting heads. I'm not sure about prior years.
Did you give Contemporary Corvette a call?
thanks for that tidbit, jim
and i haven't given contemporary corvette a call as i think i can get the parts right here in vancouver for a decent price. shipping from contemporary then across the border into canada would just increase the cost significantly.
Hmmm, I recently picked up a used hatch pull-down assembly for my IROC from a Canadian third gen bone yard and the cost shipped was much less than that of a new part from the local Chevy dealer. But I it wasn't as var a Vancouver.
