thanks for looking at my post. i have a 96 lt1 auto trans basic coupe that has a "service asr/asr off" problem. when the engine is started while cool, all abs/asr checks cycle normally and the lights remain off in the dic. when starting a warm engine, all checks cycle normally and about half the time, the lights remain on. i can normally cycle the ignition off and on to make the lights turn out eventually. when i start the engine while hot, the lights remain on and nothing i do, short of waiting for the engine to cool helps. i have looked at all other inputs to the abs/asr, i.e. changed and filled-to-the-brim brake fluid, checked connections, cleaned abs sensors, checked throttle cables, etc. the "cool-warm-hot" engine scenarios remain consistent. i'm thinking a heat-related ecm fault. do you guys think i'm on the right track?
i just don't want to start replacing things *****-nilly in order to solve this. thanks.
How does your car idle? The reason I ask is that a bad input from the Throttle position sensor will cause the car to idle a little high and it will also trigger the ASR light.
my car idles and runs beautifully. no issues at all except for the "service asr/asr off" lights. i'm a senior driver and want the asr to function at all times. the abs system works just as it should all the time. thanks for the reply. i already replaced the tps as part of my trouble shooting.
