1990 Corvette ABS Codes/Tech 1A Help
To my Tech 1A with a GM 88-91 Brake Application Cartridge(P/N TK03030):
I connected the 14 pin DLC Cable (P/N 02001392) to the GM 12/14 Pin DLC Adapter (P/N 02001384), Bosch ABS Adapter (P/N TA00022) to the DLC connector to the car.
The readout still stays to install the Bosch ABS Adapter.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
back then, they changed each week.
Mercedes, and other German cars used the exact same ABS...so they may have what you need.
The short answer to the lite....these often come on intermittently from dirty reluctor rings or corroded sensor tips. The tips also get damaged from worn out wheel bearings that allow the reluctor to lean in enough to knock off the sensor tip. Grease and dirt collect on things.
Another common problem is water draining from the hatch weather strip (corner)directly onto or INTO the ABS storage compartment....this causes the relays to corrode and/or fail. Plugs also get wet and dirty.

Hope that helps.
Link here to some good ABS info, good luck troubleshooting.

Thanks for the assistance. I do see the:
Press F0=ABS Data List
Press F1=Code History
Press F2=Trouble Codes
Press F3=ABS Snapshot
Press F4=ABS Tests
But when I Press any of those Functions on the TECCH 1A I get the message on the Tech 1A screen to install the Bosch ABS adapter (which is connected).
I was wondering if there is a specific application cartridge for ABS brakes or than the one I am using?
Thanks

1.ignition off
2.cartridge in master slot
3.power up tech1a
4.if display is up insert 12 pin adaptor and bosch abs adaptor.
5. install in adl
6.ignition on
There is a warning if tech 1a isnt powered up and menu shown before adl attachment and power up of auto. damage can occur to tech1a.
I would very carefully clean all conections of your adl adaptors and the tech1a cable. Get a can at the radio shack of electrical contact cleaner. make sure all the male pins are clean. Your adl on the car is clean. Go over this very carefully. Maybe one of your adaptors is bad? Use some spares. I see bosch adaptors new in plastic on the bay. same with the 12-14pin adaptor. Later down the line get a mass storage cartridge. It saves swapping cartridges and wear on your tech1a cartridge connector. Hope you get it figured out as these are great tools to have especially when working.

Thanks milsurpman...I have a MSC, I have not tried it yet, I had the Brake Cartridge and figured that would be the best one. I will look at the connections for corrosion, etc. Next up is the MSC trial.
