It wasn't suggested to fix it, it was suggested to see if there was a change in knock counts to know which direction to go in the diagnostic.

Ayuh. Not sure what knock counts have to do w/a misfire, though. I have to laugh when ever someone suggests fix-it-in-a-bottle. Especially for fuel, when the symptom comes and goes on the same tank of fuel as it did for the OP.

Yes well it was sort of to try and see if it was a lean misfire or an ignition misfire or other.
