So i just bought my first vette. Alot of firebirds prior and am not 100 percent familiar with the rear suspension. im having an issue with the camber on my right rear tire. I was told to adjust the long rod that goes to the upper rear of the spindle. I did this, and though it changed the camber a LITTLE it MASSIVELY towed the tire INWARD too. Whats going on here guys? shot bushings on the lower control arm? Im at a loss here.
there are 2 rods that adjust at each side at rear suspension 1 adjusts camber other toe. when you change camber in + or out - the toe in changes; the tie rod is still the same length so knuckle turns. front end does same thing. if toe is way out it will need to be adjusted at least close and camber rechecked to be sure it's what you want. Then reset toe in.
So i saw the one you can see from the rear of the car. That i adjusted out more now its towed in. Where is this OTHER rod? I dont SEE any other adjustable ANYTHING other than that long rod. :/

The arm/rod that controls camber is NOT adjustable, the adjustment is an eccentric at the differential that you can certainly see from the rear of the car. Left and right of the jack in the snapshot and "darker" - in the schematic the eccentric is #2 like "tom400cfi" mentioned and the bolt/eccentric passes through that bracket. You should have no trouble seeing it.
The upper rear rod you adjusted is the toe rod. you need to adjust it back to its original length. The camber is the lower piece that runs from the bottom of the knuckle to the bottom of the rear end. It is adjustable by an off center bolt (marked number 2 in the illustration above) at the bottom of the differential by its inner end. You loosen the nut and rotate the bolt to change camber. It takes very little to make a difference. Mark it so you know where you are before making any adjustment. Since you changed the toe adjustment, if you don't know exactly where it started from, you now have to get a four wheel alignment done. Why are you messing with something so important instead of taking it to a professional? Obviously you are not familiar with what you are doing and have already made things much worst. Just take it in and have it aligned. It is one of those things that very few people can do for themselves. You have to get the front aligned and then the rear needs aligned with the front, in other words, a four wheel alignment.

Captcolt - I am the one who responded about camber adjustment. I never told you to adjust the toe rods. Here is what I told you -
"As for the rear camber - look at the center back of the differential. Attached to each bottom rear corner is an aluminum strut that goes to the rear knuckle on each side. Where each is attached to the differential cover, there is a bolt and eccentric washer. You loosen the nut on the bolt and rotate the bolt and washer to adjust the camber. But check to see if the rubber bushings on each strut are in good condition. You can purchase poly bushings to replace the rubber bushings if they are shot."
I told you about the struts at the BOTTOM rear of the diff. You for whatever reason adjusted the toe rods at the TOP of the diff. YOUR MISTAKE not mine. You're probably a nice guy but do not try and lay the blame for your mistakes on other people. If you can't follow simple directions then let the pros handle it.
Hey hey...i got it. Im not used to the setup here and now i am. Thank you guys. Camber is fixed. All the bushings are GOOD drives straight and true. You guys are awesome! now i just need to upload some pics!
