Any one know where I can pick up a set of 3:07 ring and pinion gears, for a 90 vette with the dana 36 rear end. I cant seem to find them anywhere. Its an auto with lots of upgrades, im about to order a set of AFR 190 heads as well. Is there a better set of gears, ive heard the 3:07's are the optimal gear for the TPI iengine. Thanks to all who reply.

Generally considered easier and cheaper to find a used diff head with 3.07 gears and just swap out the diff heads intact instead of paying the labor to set up new gears in your head
Yeah I found a few for sell like that for around $350, they were from 84-87 will that work on a 90?
All would "fit" but you would want to avoid an '84 - '85 build. The build changed and the short-axles, pinions and case are different. If you bought an '86 up you would have a few of the parts that break most frequently, the pinions, the center shaft and the short-axles for possible future use.
OK thanks,so what years do I need to be on the look out for for this swap that I will have no issues. Thanks
Theoretically any build '85 or newer should have the same case, pinions and short-axles but to be safe I'd try for '86 or newer. The build information that "MIGHT" be etched into the bottom of the housing would be a confirming piece of documentation.
605260-2, 605260-4, 605321-4, 605490-2 would be later product.
