1994 Corvette oil pressure problem
This is my sons car. I've been helping him learn how to work on it and I have a question about oil pressure. The dash gauge reads low. I have had blow back through the dip stick which makes me think the gauge is correct and the oil pump is shot. Any feed back? Thanks to all...I'm new on this forum.

Generally if the oil pressure is low, getting blow back through the dip stick the rings are probably shot too. Compression getting in to the crankcase. Do a compression test both dry and wet which may lead you to a leak down test. It likely needs an overhaul. If it was just a worn oil pump that would not explain the crankcase pressure.
