Default Power steering thread size ??

Hey guys ,

Looking to see if you guys know the thread size for the power steering unit. I eliminated the power steering a long time ago and had the factory hoses cut and looped, I ended up loosing the stock fittings and looking to replaces then with a O-ring AN fitting ..

Any idea of what size fitting they would take ? i would assume they are metric ??

Thanks

There are 18mm Saginaw and there are 16mm Saginaw - there are adapters for both to generally -6 AN. There is also a specialty fitting available for the "flow control valve" used in Type II pump to -6 AN also.

Pressure hose is 16mm one end and 18mm the other. The cooler is 16mm.

I wouldn't think so for PS fittings. I'd rather have something other than aluminum. I believe steel or brass is available. The 18mm choice is maybe OK but it depends on clearance at the pump.

These people do steel and also the flow control valve I mentioned earlier.

They also offer a valve to reduce volume from 3.0 to 2.2 I believe.

Those would do BUT there might be other sources perhaps even local. It would depend on the shipping. USPS would be very inexpensive for just two fittings and if the ship was inexpensive it might be good to have some sales history with them. They offer a good bit of hardware that sometimes is difficult to find. You need to make sure you've got enough clearance for the fitting of your choice to the pump and rack.

See if maybe you can find this local:

M41157X6X16 and M41157X6X18

Those would be Eaton/Weatherhead - they might likely be more expensive also. NAPA maybe?
