1986 fuel pump install
Anyone use a racetronix fuel pump kit on a 86 .??? I pulled my pump and car is disabled in my driveway blocking everything so before I call for a tow maybe someone can help . I expected to stick it in in a few hrs as it seemed simple enough . The new pump came with a short wiring harness that doesn't match what my stock set up had . I can cut the new harness and stick in a plug that will connect to my existing connections but I wonder if that is a good idea as its in the gas tank . If I do that should I solder my wires or crimp ,will the gas eat the soldered connection .Hit the local parts stores to see if I can find a plug that will fit the new pump ??

Oh Well I had to get it moved ,I cut my harness and crimpted two connectors on my wire and had enough to get to the pump terminals for now .I assume I was sent a harness for another year by accident . I went to nappa and they show the same harness I have as oem so my car is right for the year but had nothing to get me to the new pump plug.
So I had to improvise and overcome . Its got to be the easiest pump I ever replaced so I can pull it again if I start feeling like I driving a ticking time B xx
