Default Do I need to reset timing, if so, how

Hi guys,

This is my first post and I'm new to doing my own work on a car, so please, forgive my ignorance.

I have read up on various tutorials, watched videos, and so on, but I am no mechanic (although I do have our family mechanic on speed dial, lol).

Anyway, down to business. I'm replacing the optispark on my 1994 C4 (LT1) and I've got it all apart and ready for reassembly (I didn't complete it yet since the replacement opti didn't have the rod that goes into the camshaft on it - am I missing something?).

While removing the crank pulley, the engine did rotate considerably (those 20 year old bolts were testing me), but the old distributor was still partially in place. Do I need to reset timing? Is there something I need to do with the new opti?

I read that earlier LT1s only fit one way, but I'm not totally sure what I'm up against. Any advice on what I may be facing?

Thanks in advance,
Collin
