Hey Guys,
Question:
If a floor jack was used under to front crossmember and pushed the center of it up a little bit, could it cause the car to appear pigeon toed?

Only if you hit the rack. Roll the car forwards and back to make sure the suspension has settled down. Hard to bend just by jacking the car up there.

That's what I thought too...however this is the only logical thing I can come up with.
Here's the story.

This goes back a couple of years... one summer I noticed that I had a wide gap between the top of tire and front fender.. Almost 5 inches. I had posted about this and had a lot of help trying to figure it out. I never really did. Drove it all that summer and it never settled like you suggest. So when winter came I decided to lower the front end. I ended up going with coilovers since that was a guaranteed way to get it lowered. Upon removing the transverse spring I noticed a "dent" in the crossmember.. center of it was pushed up a quarter inch or so. Didn't really look to bad so I ignored it.

That spring after the coilovers I had issues with a vibration in the steering wheel. Had the car aligned 4 times, Had the tires balanced 4 times, even had the wheels checked for straightness. After all this, car still did the same thing!

Assuming that my problem is bump steer.. I've purchased the kit from EM. Getting ready to put it on,
then got to thinking about the prior problem... If I put this kit on and it doesn't work or should I go back to the transverse spring, but if I do and cut the wedges off to keep the car lower am I really just masking the real problem of the orginal "pigeon toe".. and that's my culprit in steering wheel vibration/shake at high speeds?

Now if the alignments are coming out perfect does that mean that the crossmember is fine or has it just compensated for that problem?
FYI... I'm only using coilovers in the front..NOT the back.

To many questions I know...this is what guys think about when they have there car put for the winter in the northeast..

I would not worry about the crossmember, its a huge metal box that cannot be easily bent. If it did your engine would be rubbing on the hood.
Vibration is usually tires or brake disc buckled but you would feel that when braking.

i had no issues going from the composite leaf spring to coil overs, i have a very smooth ride (on smooth highways that is ) no vibration.

I suppose worn ball joints or tie rod ends could cause vibrations, but you would have some wandering issues.
