I'm about to get my car up on jack stands to do brakes (I'm at a little more than 50,000 miles) and figure I might as well do the rear end oil while its up in the air (I did the ZF last winter). I know there no drain plug, and I'm prepared to pump out the old oil. What are you folks generally recommending for the replacement lubricant? My car's an LT4 Collector Edition in very good shape and no history of racing or hard use.
Any tips or advice always appreciated. Thanks, everyone.
Use a good Synthetic. I have seen 2 different Car shows, Horsepower TV and Popular HotRoding, with segments on synthetics. HPTV used a mustang and gained 8hp by simply changing oil, trans, and rear end to synthetics. HPTV used Royal Purple. PHR - did not namr the synthetic. :flag
