My radiator is now leaking like a siv in my 85 its stock for the most part

What is better and why

Stock replacement

or all aluminum

I'm a little late to this but DeWitt radiators builds a 1.5" all aluminum for about $135-ish more than a replacement stock one. And it will handle additional HP down the road. I just dropped the same thing in my 1991. It fit perfectly.

Yes for the 1.5"Dewitt's. Call them and talk to John or Tom if he is in.

The stock style radiator is cheaper and will do the job.

Some of the aftermarket aluminum radiators (especially the ones on eBay) have fit problems and a few modifications must be made to make them work. From what I've seen, most of the suppliers use the same Chinese manufacturer, so they all have the same problems. Usually the rubber mounts must be trimmed and the area around the filler neck needs to be opened up. There are several threads on the Forum that spell out the modifications needed. As mentioned previously, DeWitt's has a reputation for high quality and they are American made. You will have to pay a premium to get that quality.
