What is the easy or correct way to remove the electrical connector from the fuel injector? I m sure its easier with the plenum and runners off but I just want to ohm the injectors.
I'm assuming 85 thru 96's are all the same -- there's that U-shaped, spring loaded clip thing on the connector - just push it in, or inward, to release the connector.
I pushed in on the clip all around and didnt have any luck. I managed to catch the spring clip end on one side and kind of swiveled the clip around to where it will disengage the tangs. Its still not particularly easy but I expect that with the Vette. Any other methods yall use?
well, maybe all connectors are not the same, but on my 90, removal is as described. here's a couple shots of my 90's connectors -
i'll try to show in a couple pics how the little spring clip works. pushing in on the clip spreads the sides a bit, releasing it from the locking tabs on the injector. pretty simple. I'm really thinking all TPI C4's are like this...
Thanks Joe, apparently the '85 is quite different than yours. The clip is smaller in diameter, fits tightly into a groove and actually wraps around the connector where yours kinda kick outward on the ends. Yours definitely looks a lot easier to disconnect.
