I have a 85 C4 the electrical circuits are heavly modified. The horn wasn't working finally decided the fusible link was burned somewhere. I tried to hot wire the red wire from the security fuse to the input of the horn relay. As I snipped I kept starting the the engine no issues. Then i got a spark when i tried the red wire to the horn (green) wire should have sounded the horn but didn't. Now all electrical s tied to the ignition switch are off, everything not switch related works. Is there a fuse or circuit breaker somewhere I haven't checked or is the switch toast. The car has 150K miles on it?
Sounds like youve fried a fusible link somewhere. Hopefully someone will chime in with the location. If not I will drag out my FSM and see if it shows where it is.

Thanks for the info, hope its not in the rats nest behind the dash
If it were fried then I should find broken wire at the post? Is it possible it's just the ignition switch?
The problem solved. For everyone's information the fusible links, there are 2, are from the starter to the alternator and from the starter to the battery

For others benefits, I've had a couple of fusible links shorted in the past. They weren't broken or burnt off, they were shriveled up on the wire portion, burnt out and shriveled. In one case it wasn't even apparent till checking it out with an ohm meter.
My FSM shows 10 fusible links, so your count is a little off...
I think the ones that shorted the ignition are these two, I found a good mechanic who fixed it after I stared at it for a month so I am happy. Where did you get the FMS wiring I bought a service manual on CD and the wiring section is omitted. Thjanks for your interest it's appreciated.
The FSM page numbering system changed over the years, but the fusible links in my book are on page 8A-10-0. The only one missing from that page is the one on the starter solenoid that goes to the HVAC blower motor. I can post a copy of that page if you need it.
