Default Turn signal lever 1992 problems

First the right signal will not engage and simply flops back down. Left signal works but won't disengage unless it is a distinct left turn. It won't dis-engage if it is a simple lane change. A return spring? Any tutorials from the Forum? Help!

Wow! Do I need to drop the column to get to the cam and return springs? I have one of the caps that snap on behind the turn signal lever off but the actual column sleeve is a mystery to me. Steering wheel is off but I don't see any easy means of pulling off the cover sleeve to get to the cam and springs! Help!

You do NOT need to drop the column. You need snap ring pliers to remove the coil, a compressor to compress the lock plate to remove the wire ring that retains the lock plate. Everything below that should be very straight forward. I used to have a link to a very good assembly tutorial but it's gone away quite some time ago.

Some of what to expect is in this link but NOT all:

"Tom400CFI" posted this "tutorial" a while back for ignition lock replacement but you need to do similar:

I did this repair on my 92. You might take photos of the parts before you remove them so you remember the orientation.

Wow! That was a great tutorial! Got alll the stuff taken apart to find out that it is a tab on the multi-function housing. Bummer. Went ahead and through in the new cam and springs for good measure since I had it apart. Time to talk to my Corvette guy in Fremont NE. At least I am lucky enough to have a Corvette salvage yard only 20 miles away! Learned a lot today though and even though the problem is not fixed yet...I can help out any Corvette owners with similar problemss around here.

It sounds like you're mentioning you need a wiper switch, that would be the pivot and the part that the lever actually installs into OR do you need the small metal actuator arm that connects the pivot to the turn signal switch? The switch is '90 - '93.

Guys. Information on Corvette Salvage Yards would be a great thread and an invaluable resource for us on the Corvette Forum.

After taking everything apart, I found a piece of what is an aluminum casting. It is from the "square" shaped housing that the turn signal arm goes into. When I had the lock plate off, the signals work fine manually. It is quite simply a broken piece of the assembly that triggers the pivot. I also noticed that I can not turn on my brights either. I wish it had been something a little more common! The wipers function fine so it must be the piece of the casting from the top part of the "multi-funtion" box that surrounds the signal arm base.
