Default Missing Auxiliary fan update

Thanks to those who responded. This is really weird and so I wanted to share it.

The car now cools fine. I filled the recovery bottle to the top this morning. Have never done that before for any vehicle. Now the car runs cool. I've never seen the car run this cool before. It was running as low as 191 after being in traffic. I've watched the temps climb to 260 in the past.

This makes no sense to me but it worked. I don't think I'll need the 2nd. fan now. The car has never ran so cool since I bought it 4-years ago and had the engine rebuilt.

Anyway it's fixed. Go figure.

Great
I usually use an 18 psi recovery cap i have been running a 20 psi cap the last couple of years and 50/50 coolant mix with the blown engine to keep too much coolant going to the recovery bottle, 16 psi is standard and keeps the coolant pressurised to raise the boiling point.

I am surprised the radiator copes with a 20 psi cap

I know in my 85 the booster fan is needed in traffic on hot days with a lot of idling and traffic lights when it was standard, is fine on the highway but i feel the early C4 cooling system is Just ok, any engine mods and even with the booster fan she gets pretty hot in summer with a/c blasting cool air.

The 88-91 had a better system with 2 cooling fans and the later models with the recovery bottle up high.
