I have seen the HyperTech packages for 94-95-96 but can some one explain to me what is needed to change the parameters in the PCM since you don't burn new proms like the L98's. I have EASE software for monitoring but don't understand what can be changed or modified on the 94 LT1 and how to go about altering it. Really just trying to learn and understand it at this time but in the fall will be building another LT1 with Hotcam etc and want to be prepared if possible to know how to program/tune it properly. Any lists or guidlines or web sites would be very helpfull. Thanks in advance
Re: What programming can be done on 94 OBD1 (The Green Rocket)
Green Rocket, thanks for the reply on the question. I looked over the link and BOY is it intimidating but I will read thru it over and over. The link for page 7 and beyond is not working...how many pages am I missing in info.
Re: What programming can be done on 94 OBD1 (C4TOMCAT)
I can understand your fear factor, the sooner you get over it the better. Before I had LT1Edit I had my computer programmed by an acknowledged leader/expert (my choice to leave out his name). It was one of those deals where I sent my ecm out with a detailed list of all the modifications, it was then reprogrammed and mailed back to me. It ran ok enough, but it was completely off the scale on emissions (and it was smog time for me), a look at the programming revealed what can best be described as a program for somebody elses car, but it couldn't have been right for mine. Wanting to be in control of my own destiny, and my desire to be able to do tuning during real chassis dyno sessions led me to LT1Edit. I rented the chassis dyno for 1/2 day and worked over the fuel maps and spark tables. At the end of the day I had more power everywhere, AND cleaner emissions than even when the car was new and stock!
Here is the way I see it; every car is a little different in its programming needs - off the shelf programs are unlikely to deliver outstanding results. Problem is that almost none of the professional tuners can be had for a personal dyno session for any sort of reasonable cost - and even then sometimes not at all!
