Just noticed a rough idle during the week and traced it back to a dead #3 injector. No difference in engine vacuum or idle plugged in or not. What is odd is that the injector impedance checks out fine hot and cold. The injector connector does fire the adjacent injector just fine so no wiring issues to hunt down.
I just ordered up the gaskets, fuel rail o-ring's, and 8 new Delphi injectors Might as well replace EGR valve while I'm there. Anything else I'm forgetting?
piece of cake, just don't pressurize the rail before you start. pull TB, plenum, and passenger side runner. When you pull the EGR the rail will come up!
Thanks MrWillys. I have the plenum and rail off the car. Just needs a crows foot to get to the back EGR bolt since I'm going to replace it anyway. I also ordered a Holley adjustable FPR since I was going to log with TTS Datamaster and do a minor cleanup of the factory tune with tunerpro. Makes up one of the missing links when lining up the BLM's without having to mess too much with injector constants etc.
It was a tough decision to go with the Delphi Injectors since I have a new set of matched orange Bosch III's ready to go and second used take-off set from my brothers '90 when he went to 24 lb injectors. Too bad it's not easy to switch back and forth and pick the winner!
