I need some help, please help me. (hood problems)
We actually had to get out a drummel and saw it to make room. Finally the hood will fit and close.
Now we have a problem though.
I'll show you through pics.
The passenger side front fits PERFECT!
The driver side front, the side I hit, well it does not fit well for some reason. These pics are of the hood, with it bolted buy the bolts are loose, for allowing adjustments.
The only thing I can think of that could be causing this is this bracket, which is actually bent on the side, but im not sure if it would be causing it that bad.
(the bracket with the rubber boot screw on it.)
It curves up front and this is a shot of it up front.
What can cause that much distortion on the driver side front? The body shop said the frame was fine, so I don't think thats it, but could these little side brackets be causing that?
Thanks for all your help guys.
The bumper doesnt even have that inside bracket youre speaking of!!(I left them off for now...doing bodywork, etc)
Ok back to yours,I dont know what damage was done or if the front bumper support brackets have been damaged during a light impact or etc.If not,you may need to loosen them in there and adjust the bumper best you can to align with hood, possibly use shims to achieve correct alignment then bolt back down.
(youll need to loosen the torx bolts in the front wheel well as well to aid adjusting the bumper to match the hood)
Also,Can you also ensure you installed the hood correctly and that this hood doesnt rub something else under there?
Ill check back again soon if you reply more and see what else I can come up with.
:)

We got in there, and started rubbing chalk on all the parts that looked like they get in the way. No chalk ended up on the hood. So I don't thinkanything is hitting it inside, but looking at it, I feel something has to be hitting it, it just doesn't make any sense.
The body shop was supposed to align the bumper. They did, problem is they aligned it with the old wrecked hood still on.
I went out and measured from the ground (scorp brought up a point this may not be accurate?) anyways, the amount difference in the passenger to the driver side, is almost the exact amount sticking up.
So this has to be it right?
That looks exactly like my hood/bumper now, after my wreck. I just live with it. My bumper is a GM replacement piece, while my hood is from Vanacor. The body shop said the hood was actually "too big" for the bumper. I think it's just the shop...

That bhood is from GM, its off a 91 ZR1. It should be fitting. But it does fit, the bumper is just out of wack right now.
