Headers messing up my wires?
My AFR gauge and aftermarket tachometer have wires that run through the firewall and next to the headers.
My AFR gauge read 22.4:1 when I first started up the car, and my tachometer was at 6 o'clock on below 0 not at any RPM number. Then my tachometer would go all crazy over the whole RPM range, and I'm comparing this to the stock tachometer which isn't doing this. When this happened my AFR gauge would also read 9.8:1, 14.7:1 and some different numbers, but it would get stuck on those numbers for a few seconds and then move to a different number. Finally the AFR gauge straightened out a little but was still reading 16:1 at idle, while my tachometer was reading 6k RPMs.
I turned the engine off and then back on, and they both seemed to straighten out for a few seconds and then they did the same thing again.
I put my car on the lift and looked at the wires and nothing seems to be out of the ordinary. Is there some kinda of supernatural electrical effect that headers and heat have on wires or something? Kinda confused.
Thanks!
