If there was air trapped, I would think it would be soft and go all the way to the floor right? Mine is really hard and wont go to the floor, feels likes something is binding, but I couldn't figure out what it would be, there aren't too many parts

I think I found about the only way possible to screw up the slave install. The rod must have push out before I got it in and went up and over the fork. I must have maxed it out, good thing I didnt go crazy pushing on it or I probably would have ruptured something. I realigned to the fork and now the pedal seems to travel with a normal range of motion, feels soft though so looks like I do have more air to get out.
I am going to leave the car with the rearend up over night, then give your technique a shot. Did you ever have any issues with the pedal position switch? Mine seems to have broken or got out of adjustment.

If you're referring to the switch on the top of the pedal that completes the circuit so the starter works when the clutch is depressed - yup.
Seems to be a very common occurrence from what I've read plus my experience. It also seems discontinued so I have not found a replacement. For what it would take to replace it, I just jumpered around the switch and just make sure the clutch is depressed before hitting the starter.
Pretty sure the air is in the hydraulic line loop over top of the master cylinder on the firewall, so raising the rear might make it harder to get out. I had mine flat on the ground when working on getting the air out. If I ever have to do mine again, I'm seriously considering getting a flexible hydraulic line so I can bleed it with the slave over top of the master, then work it down to the bell housing and mount it after bled.

This is such a PIA. I cannot get this stupid thing to work. I started with the procedure in the FSM, no luck, lifted the car rear high over night to get any air out of the slave, then front high over night to try to get it out of the loop, pumped the ever living crap out of it each night and on and on. It feels about like it did before, but just will not shift into gear while running. I just hooked up a vacuum to the master and still no luck. Both Master and Slave feel pretty stiff when pushing on them by hand and dont seem to be leaking. I dont know what else it would be besides air still stuck in there, but I am at a loss for how to get it out. How do I prove to myself that the master/slave are good and that it is air in the system?

Have you tried what I said in post #20? Pumping the pedal, holding it then letting your foot slide off the pedal and having it pop up on it's own did it for me. It's like hitting it with a high pressure burst of pressure and it forced the air out of the loop in mine.

Yea, I tried that the last two nights. I have my truck in for inspection, going to talk to my mechanic who did the slave for me last year. I also google some more techniques to try this weekend. I have read that people sometimes get bad parts out of the box. As long as the master isn't leaking and is firm, its working right? there is no pushing that in without the leverage of the pedal.
