Something I came up with to finish the look of the HD Front Calipers that not only looks good but also keeps debris from building up behind the pads causing premature and uneven wear. So far in the five years since I came up with this I've had no issues with the plugs falling out or warping from the heat.
Sure that's why we share the little things that enhance the look and at the same time have a function. What your looking for are desk plugs. I found them at a Mom and Pop hardware store. The so called "Big box stores" didn't carry the perfect fit plugs and they wouldn't stay in. After I acquired the exact size I purchased 500 and sold them with instructions on how to install them. If they aren't seated properly they will come off. If you can't find any let me know as I have enough to last three lifetimes.

Those are textured nylon or metal? There's metal cap plugs of nearly every size imaginable available. Post up some snapshots of the product you used. I've been aware of plugs to do this but I saw a car with it done up close and there was something that just looked ODD. I never thought about doing it again. In a snapshot yours looks substantially better but who know what "up close" might do.
I used nylon and the ones I acquired fit perfect in the caliper and also extend into the pad retainers. If you look close they are set deeper on one side of the caliper hole than the other and have to be installed a certain way to acheive the right fit.
Note the side of the plugs where there are two tabs on each side. The size is @ 1.25" across by .50" in depth. I experimented with a few different makes until I found the right fit. It makes a huge improvement in looks by not seeing the rear pad clips and all the debris that accumulate in that area.
