Yup, the problem is in your turn signal switch in the steering column. The contacts are worn. You can disassemble the column and see if you can fix the contacts. Or you can buy a new turn signal assembly from your GM Dealer and replace it. It would be best to use a service or shop manual to aid in the disassembly. Make sure that you feed the wires up from the base of the column as you pull on the switch to remove it. It is a little tedious. But it is a job that can be done by the average mechanic.

If you can't find a shop manual, email me and I can try to scan the appropriate pages and send it to you. It is a simple repair that takes no special tools except for a steering wheel puller. The puller can be rented or bought at nearly any automotive parts store. The switch assembly can be gotten at any GM parts source. You could get a hold of Jeff Kopp, a forum member, or by email at parts@superchevyperformance.com . I think his username is 18carfan. Jeff is very helpful at locating genuine parts at an affordable price.
