I need some help with my AC on my 95. When I turn on the AC air comes out the top and botom. No air comes through the AC vents. Is this Vaccum or electrical operated. Any help would be greatly appriciated.
I'm going from memory on some previous posts, but check the plastic vacuum T underneath the passengers side fuel rail cover. They are know to deteriorate and cause a leak. This then cause problems with the A/C vents working properly and will also mess with the cruise control. Someone else might chime in with some other areas to look for.
I can't vouch for a 95, but the system operation is the same.
The vents are controlled by electrically controlled vacuum. There is the head unit (Display w/ buttons) and then there is the programmer module (electrically controlled solenoids). These solenoids turn on/off the vacuum to the HVAC doors. The programmer module is generally located just above the gas pedal, on th firewall. (One electrical conn, many vacuum lines.) They are a high failure item. Some can be fixed depending on the failure. For most people,.. just replace the module.
If most vents respond to the settings,... it is highly probable that a solenoid had gotten tired on the programmer module. i.e. New module time.
Check for a vacuum problem. The same happened on my '96. I pulled off the passenger fuel rail cover to clean under it. When I finished the AC started acting up. I broke the small black plastic check valve in the vacuum line under the fuel rail. I think the cruse control may also work off the same vacuum source so look for vacuum leaks in the cruse control area also. Lets hope the vacuum problem is under the hood and not under the dash!
Thanks for all the help guys. It ended up being a broken vacumn tee under the right side fuel rail cover. Just looking at it it didn't look broke bit when I moved it I seen it was. :flag
