Ok guys. I"ve come to the conclusion that I really just cannot deal w/ the turbines on my 1987 z51 car. I NEED a 5 spoke wheel of some sort. The difference between a red 87 w/ factory turbines vs a red 87 w/ 5spokes is just immense, and thats what I need. I hate gaudy aftermarket wheels... so I need something OEM looking. Replicas are just fine.
Suggestions? Help on my lug/offset sizing? I"m so terrible w/ wheels since thats a part I rarely upgrade unless there's another factory option... and in the Euro world wheels from lambos, ferraris, MB, bmw, porsche, Volkswagen etc all fit together.

HELP!
afswheels.com has a good selection. You can get them in 2 sizes, 9.5 and 9.5, or 9.5 and 11. They have grand sport rims too but I think they have been sold out for a while. Mine are highly polished aluminum and they get the job done. I think they're worth it over the extra 600 for chrome plated. They look the same.
AFS has the ZR-1 replica wheels for the earlier C4s with the correct offset (suspension underwent MAJOR mods in 1988). They have them in multiple varieties: painted black, painted silver, polished and chromed:

P.S. I vote for AFS also. If you wanted to go with 11" rears, they have (or did so last summer) the correct offset for our '84-'87's. Only concern I had with 11" rears was the limited availability of tires for them. I went w/ 9.5's all around so if I burn off the rears, I could swap them w/ the front's. I do like the looks of the 11's though.

I have two sets of black AFS wheels for my gold '87; one set is for street track say use and the other set is for autocross with Hoosier A6's. Both sets of wheels have held up very well considering the stresses placed on them.
AFS have wheels in chrome, silver, polished finish and black. The wheel weight is just a couple pounds or so more than the OEM '87 wheels so there's not whole lot of difference in unsprung weight.
I would recommend getting a set of 4 wheels in 17x9.5 so you will be able to rotate the tires for better wear. And as mentioned, the 315/35-17 tires are getting harder to find.
I went with the 98 camaro ss zr1 look 17" rims. the offset is 50mm and I orderedd 1" billet adapters. they are on there way now. I have the GM originals and they are pretty light and you can buy them cheap.

I bought a set of wheels and tires from AFS via ebay just like this late last summer. All came mounted and balanced and in the correct offset to make the late-run C4 wheels fit the early-run C4 exactly as they should. No spacers and no horsing around. The quality of the wheels and tires is great, you can't beat the price, they arrived in a matter of just a few days, and the set I bought came with lug nuts too.
I ran Torq Thrust M wheels on my for a while. I loved them. I think they are the best looking wheel on a C4. I had the 17x10.5 all around with 285/40/17 tires.
