1990 - Coupe. Security light on dash
The security light in the instrument cluster won't extinguish. Result over a couple of days on non operation is to drain the battery. Otherwise the car is running fine. The security system seems to be working fine, will flash when door is open etc. Any ideas on how to fix or turn this thing off

Verify the following.
Normal operation.
Both doors closed Security light is Off. (In your case the light is On)?
Open either door Security light blinks.
Lock doors with power door lock switch. Security light is On solid. (In your case does the light go Off)?
Close both doors Security light goes Off and alarm is set. (in your case does the light stay On)?
When you insert the ignition key and turn the key to On/Run, the Security light should light for less than a second then go Off. (In your case the light stays On)?
If the CCM is bad you have four choices. Purchase a used one, a refurbished one, have your CCM repaired, or remove the bulb and live with the problem. If you purchase a used one the mileage which is stored in the CCM won't be correct for your car You will also need a new key with the proper value key pellet that matches the resistance value the used CCM was originally programmed for.
If you purchase a refurbished one you would need a Tech 1 to program it.
