Have you tried hooking up a fuel pressure gauge to it to confirm proper pressure?
Real easy under the hood using that existing connector and what you see there will essentially tell you if the issue is fuel or ignition related.

I'm thinking fuel filter...when was the last time that it was changed?

Also, have you tried disconnecting the battery for a bit to reset?

Since the problem was gone, but reappeared after a short road trip, we now need to look into everything that is potentially temperature-related. As always, it is a process of elimination...I'd look into proper fuel pressure first and go from there.

I got it...how new are the fuel injectors? Are they new or original?

Many, many years ago, I had an issue on another C4 where the car ran fantastic and then after driving for a while would start to exhibit the exact same bog and sick running issues. Eventually, it got to the point where it would not start after it died on the road after driving for a while. An hour or two later, the car would start up and run healthy like a scalded ape. Usually right after the tow truck or flatbed delivered the car. It drove me nuts!!!!

Turned out that the windings within the fuel injectors were aging/breaking down and shorting out and making the car run sick. Eventually, the problem was so bad that the bad injector(s) were shutting down the ECM and preventing it from starting, only to be perfectly normal once it cooled.

I went through hell with this problem and even had imbecile mechanics tell me I needed a new wiring harness until I figured it out. I believe if you do an internet search, you may find that some people even call this a defect of the original injectors, although to me, that is a moot point after two decades...LOL

well i took out the iac, maf and pcv and cleaned them all off with cleaner. i didn't get to go for a ride but i did start it up and it started nicely.

It looks like it has new fuel lines and filter. so if it still does it.... injectors? I'm not getting any service codes but I'm thinking its probably disconnected. kind of a shady dealership i bought this from. anyway so if i have to buy new injectors, how much hp will the stock injectors support. since I'm going to rebuild this motor this winter i plan on doing head work, headers, cam and tune. not trying to get anything crazy just a few extra ponies.

thanks

well i did pretty much everything you guys mentioned other then new injectors. so far its running pretty good. so if it starts again, I'll go ahead and get some new injectors.

new problem... why don't i have any throttle? i have about 1/4 throttle then it feel like I'm pushing against a spring and no difference in power. I'm guessing something to do with the asr thingy... can i delete that or disable it? i pushed the button with the peel out marks on the left hand side of the counsel but no change... i have no full throttle right now. just my luck i get it running great and i cant roast the tires lol

please help

thanks

Did you check your fuel pressure with a gauge? What was it?

Key on/Engine off?
Engine on?
Engine on/ with revs?

How quick/slow did it bleed down after shut off?
