Default radiator replacement

My radiator blew out on me yesterday pulling in the garage. Any recommendations on a good replacement. It looks like the previous owner went with the cheap option with the plastic ends. There are a lot of options out there, has anyone tried the champion cooling brand.

The stock radiator is "the cheap option with the plastic ends". I recently saw one at AutoZone for about $125.

Here's a related thread on aluminum radiators:

Many people like the DeWitts radiators, which are famous for being drop-in replacements:

Go to ebay and do a search for your year car radiator. I am VERY HAPPY with my American Eagle 2 row all aluminum delivered to my door for $185. Installation is easy ! It is one of the best modifications I made to my car. A 15-20 degree difference in cooling temps.

It really depends on what you do with your car and how long you plan on keeping it. Most likely your radiator lasted 20+ years assuming its OEM so that new plastic ended rad should last as long. All aluminum definitely has its advantages like durability and cooler runnng and the DeWitt's is probly the best drop in on the market. Personally I dont see the point in spending that amount of money because I dont actually have any reason. My car isnt modded and stays within acceptable temperatures with what came from the factory. If you have the money to invest and you plan on getting that moneys worth out of a DeWitts its a great product. Do what makes the most sense on what you are doing or planning to do.

Good Luck!!

DeWitt's make a great single row replacement that is 1 1/2" compared with one inch oem.

I have the champion, so far works great

I had to trim the rubber that the radiator is sandwiched in with, but that was no big deal. I got the 3 core version for about $200.00 shipped.
