Default Elimination of CSV.

I'm going to eliminate the cold start valve om my 86. Is it possible to use the code from a 89 (no csv) without any (major) modifications ? The car is otherwise mostly stock.. Both is MAF and both is 165 ECU so it should work I think... If this will not work, what tabels would I have to modify to compensate for no csv ?

should work fine, I think the ARAP bin is for a 89 automatic and the APYP is for a 89 manual tran's.

Just unplug the 9th injector.
And make sure you change the "Crank Fuel Pulse Width Multiplier vs. Ref Pulses (1-16)" table or you will have extended cranking.
I changed 1-8 from 0.000 to 0.500 and it fires right up.

My tables are showing...

00 : 0.996
08 : 0.996
16 : 0.996
.
.
.
128 : 0.996

....do you feel this might be why my first start of the day normally takes about 4-5 seconds of cranking? After that 1st start it fires right up without hesitation. My chip is based off of a 1988 BIN and I have deleted my cold start injector because of the Accel intake manifold.

Scorp: Good question! I checked my stock bin and all values are just like yours (all values are 0.996).. (AANM)

Kevin 88: What year is your car (what bin) ? Was 0.000 the values from a stock bin ?

I dont have the TDF-file for the ARAP.bin so I colud not check the values in it. Anybody know the values in this tabel in the ARAP-bin ?

Thanks everyone for helping to figure this out !

I assume you have aluminum heads. ARAP/APYP has agressive SA curves, probably way too much for 86E iron heads.

Taken from... http://www.jimsperformance.com/portinj.html

In 1989 the cold start injector was deleted from the system. The primary injectors were used for cold starts via a fuel enrichment program in the newer EPROM calibrators.
and.....

When the starter is engaged and the coolant temperature is less than 100 deg F. The cold start injector provides a spray of fuel, of 8 seconds duration max, to each cylinder via a air distribution system built into the intake manifold. If the engine temperature is greater than 100 deg F, the cold start injector is disabled by the cold start switch.
and....

In 1989 the cold start injector was deleted. The calibrator provides a wider pulse width on startup to provide a richer mixture for a cold engine.

I'd like to know if this was simply modification of some values I can alter for my now CSV-less system, or additional code.

Yes, I have alu-heads.. Do you know if there was much change in spark advance from the AANM that I'm running now to the ARAP ?
Oh well, I'le have to buy the tdf-file to read the ARAP-bin anyhow if I should do this..

I pulled the ARAP advance curve out using WinBin. I should have said that ARAP is RUMORED to have a steeper curve. It is actually milder than what came with my '86E. Here are the values at WOT (LV = 208) along with my stock values:

RPM ARAP '86e
4800 35.2 32.3
4400 30.9 30.6
4000 27.1 29.9
3600 23.9 29.9
3200 22.9 29.9
2800 22.9 29.9
2400 25.0 28.5
2200 27.1 27.4
2000 26.0 26.4

BTW, I get 5-6 degrees of knock retard at 3000 - 3500 RPM with my stock chip. By shaving off a degree at a time I'm down to 1 degree retard and I'm still way more agressive than ARAP.
