I have the whole driver's side headlight assembly out of the car, '92 coupe, and have the three bolt side cover removed from the actuator. I am trying to determine if the LH is the hard side to remove the large gear, due to the ridge on it, or if it is the RH side that is hard side to remove the gear.
So far I have not been able to remove the gear from the actuator. I am also having trouble removing the actuator from the assembly frame, if that is what really needs to be done. The linkage does not seem easy to disconnect. Does anyone have any expertise with LH actuator rebuilds?
I just got the gear out. I ended up using a drift punch to drive out the hollow pin on the linkage side of the actuator, and when all the linkage was free from the shaft, the gear come out with ease.
