No I don't sorry, is there a different degree setting I could try and see what happens. It's only a slight ping would changing it to 8 or 4 degrees make a difference
I know what your saying, but it hasn't been pinging since I touched the timing, but I don't know what it was at befor
The timing was probably to far advanced before, which caused the pinging. Also, are you filling with Premium fuel which is required for the later L98 engines?...
Premium fuel burns at a slower rate than regular fuel which is why it is required on high compression engines which the 90-91 Speed Density L98's are, (10.25:1 compression compared to 9.5:1 for the earlier L98's).
If Regular fuel is used, the ECM will Retard engine timing to prevent detonation, at a slight loss of engine performance.
Ok latest update, it was me being a dumb *** in was setting up the timing light all wrong and putting the timing way out of wack, Now some one has told me the correct way to do it it drives fine with no pinging
