Hi Guys,
What is the best way to jump or charge a 93 battery? If I am not mistaken you can fry the computer if the battery is hooked up in the car. Is that correct? So, is it best to remove the battery or can I just unhook it and charge away.
I know this sounds like a dumb question but I am a C2 guy. I am thinking of buying this car. It is a 93 auto, anniversary edition.
Also, what is a fair price? Very good condition, 80K miles. I am thinking $8,000.
I've jump started my '95 several times too (bad battery) and have never had any issues. I have heard of people having issues, but I'm not really sure why.
I've heard the same thing, only when jumping another car. Is it true I don't know. But whenever I have gave or needed a jump start, I make sure the ignition is in the OFF position on my Vette and the battery is hooked to mine first. Then start or try and start.
I have heard its a bad thing to jump cars with the C4. Maybe urban legend but I personally will not take the chance. I will not jump a car with mine period. If I had a dead battery in my C4 and no chance to charge the battery out of the car, well, maybe to get me home and figure out WTF is wrong with it. Pucker factor would be high.
Z25 is the RPO for the Anniversary Edition. All 93's are 40th anniversary cars but the Z25's are the only official Anniversary Editions. And yes the cars are ruby red.

OK thanks,
It is Ruby Red with Ruby Red interior. I have known the owner since he bought the car.

You can use jumper cables or a jumper pack to start a C4. Just hook the cable clamps to the positive battery post and a good ground for the negative cable. Using the negative battery terminal will also work. Just make sure the ignition switch is off before connecting the cables.
Once there is a good solid connection, then you can start the car. Make sure that the car providing the power is running at least at idle. Don't crank the engine for more than a few seconds at a time.
