Pretty sure I know how to do this, just curious if there is any videos or DIY write ups? Is changing front calipers on a c4 1991 corvette any different than any other cars? I figure I remove the 2 caliper bolts, remove the brake hose and then just re-install and bleed brakes?
The 21mm bolts are torqued at about 125 ft#, so you may need an
extension for the wrench, or use an impact wrench.
The bolt torque for the caliper bracket bolts can vary depending on the year of the car. These bolts can be re-used by cleaning the old threadlocker from the bolt threads. Also clean the female threads on the bracker; I use a 12 gauge shotgun brass cleaning brush and plenty of brake cleaning solvent.
Apply some Blue Loctite and torque both bolts to around 135-150 ft-lbs in two steps.
But if all you are doing is replacing the calipers, there is no need to remove the brackets unless you are swapping rotors at the same time.
The small bolt that holds the caliper to the bracket is torqued to about 25 ft-lbs. Clean the bolt threads, and the guide pin. Apply new grease and tighten the bolt to spec.
