Hi all - I did a search through the archives and saw some threads that were somewhat similar, and many had no resolution.
My '96 LT4 with 35k miles (no mods, owned since 3k miles) runs perfectly fine, but if you shut it off when hot, the odds are good that it will not restart. It will crank away but won't start. If you let it sit for 20-30 minutes it will start right up and run like nothing ever happened.
Last fall it did this to me during a long road trip, but last week it did it after only a 5 minute drive. Again, no missing or hesitation while driving, and it will start right up after cooling down for a while. The only anomaly is that once last fall it did restart and run rough for a couple seconds before dying, then I let it cool down before trying again and it was fine.
Suggestions appreciated. I'm figuring it's something fuel related or the electrical system that serves the fuel system getting hot.
Thanks for the responses so far. We're trying to reproduce the issue this afternoon and have a code scanner handy. I'll provide an update when something turns up.
