Default Should I change the plugs?

Just taking ownership of my first Corvette. A 1992 Coupe, auto trans. I will chg the oil & filter, Air filter, PCV valve. Hopefully with in a couple of weeks get up the energy to flush the radiator and replace the anti freeze. Doing the same to the trans, fluid change and filter. The plugs are listed for change at 100 K or 72 months, I'm going to try and check with the original owner and see if he did change the plugs. If not, should I take the time to change them too?
Next what is the verdict on synthetic oil. I use it in my diesel and feel it would be appropriate for the Vette but looking for some opinions from the seasoned Vette owners.

Is that a polite way of calling us a bunch of old farts? Seasoned Vette owners indeed.

What is the mileage on the engine/plugs. I'd change them just so I would know how new they are but Iridium plugs do last a really long time. Regardless of mileage they are possibly 22 years old. Because our engines run a bit on the warm side I would run synthetic for sure. It does seem to hold its viscosity better than Dino oil when it gets hot and is less likely to "coke up" as a result of the higher temperatures.

Congrats on your first Vette and welcome aboard. Don't forget to wave!I agree with the advice you have already been given. My 96 had 19K on it when I got it. I changed the plugs @ 30k because they had been in for 18 years. They looked good but I was concerned about them seizing in the aluminum heads. The piece of mind is worth it.

Default check wires too

Be careful with the plug wires. If they look old I recommend replacing them. Nowadays, plug wires can cause problems before plugs. I always check plugs on used cars just to be sure their are no stripped plugs or other problems lurking.

I would check with the P/O to see what has been done and when it was done. It would be a shame to change oil and filter if he just did it a week ago. With all things being right you should be able to get at least 75000 miles on a set of plugs. With that being said I never change the plugs with out dong the wires cap and rotor. The number one reason a ign fails is because of high resitance in the wires or plugs. I cannot tell you how many modules I have seen fried within a couple hundred miles of replacement just because the of a bad plug wire. Be smart and check with the PO he most likely can answer a lot of questions and concerns

I would automatically change plugs and wires on a 22 year old car irregardless of what the original owner said.
