Default Low Oil Light ?....

About a month ago I got a "low oil" light..checked and needed 3/4 qt...I had just returned from an 1800 mile trip so I chalked it up to that...Today I start up my baby and got a "low oil" light again which stayed on ..thought it odd since I had my oil changed last week...shut off the car and checked the oil...the dipstick showed perfect...started back up and NO light..ran some errands and no light again...WTH...could it be a bad sensor ?.. thanks all..

Mine comes on sometimes for no reason. I just restart the car and it almost always goes away. I am thinking a bad sensor is the cause.

O.K. guys..I'm taking her in next monday to replace the sensor..parts, a couple of quarts of oil, labor and tax...$70.00...I'll post the resultsafter I run it for a while..this may qualify as the least expensive repair I've done... :D

The sensor is only like $30 and just unscrews out of the oilpan. Very simple job!

I'm pretty sure you can get the sensor at Discount Auto, Pep Boys, ect for less then the dealer. I haven't changed mine out because I just changed my oil recently also( you'll have to drain all the oil out). Besides mine doesn't happen all the time and if you do shut the car off and restart so far mine goes away every time. :yesnod:
