I have a similar set up, only with stock manifolds. I replacedthe resonator with a magnflow dual in/out muffler w/ x pipe. It is pretty loud, actually a little too much even for me.

Hmmm any sound clip by chance? I like loud just not stupidly loud.
Had just eliminators on a 93 and loved it. Just want to make ire with long tubes and no cats that it won't be too loud

had it set up like that but had to put a couple of little glass paks in the x pipe then to the eliminators... with eliminators themselves there was too much drone....sounds awesome now....wife and neighbors hate it...I love it..

Might have to give that a shot. I still would be retaining my factory resonator if I didn't mention that so not sure how much that deadens sound

I love the way it sounds now, just not quite loud enough honestly

I'm running eliminators with the resonator. It's a nice deep throaty sound. The drone is ok until I get to 80 mph then it's a little annoying.

Here's my 93 - all stock exhaust w/eliminators:

If it's too loud, you're too old!

The Magnaflow piece I put on had about the same effect. It is filled with sound deadening material as well as a nice x-pipe. It's alright for cruising, though still very audible. At WOT it sounds pretty much like straight pipes all the way through. Absolutely no drone or resonance however.

Muffler eliminators definitely give more sound, but I don't think they're overly loud. I've heard aftermarket mufflers that are louder than the elims on a C4.

Resonance can be an issue though. My car has the 2.59 rear and there is resonance - but it never bothered me enough to want to put mufflers back on.

This is true, noise doesn't bother me much. Haha might my neighbors since I work third shift lol.
But resonance I can do as long as it isn't ridiculous, been there before and didn't enjoy it

The muffler eliminators will sound good for about a year then, the drone will get annoying and you'll end up removing them...

Exactly my experience. Previous owner removed mufflers, I didn't like the drone and don't need a loud exhaust, so I put the mufflers back on. But some people like louder exhaust and don't mind drone. However, too loud does not mean too old. Too loud simply means that a driver doesn't like a loud exhaust note, doesn't crave any extra attention, doesn't need to fix something that isn't broken, etc. Some people like louder exhaust because they believe it's how a V8 sports car is supposed to sound, or they like the sound and/or extra attention, etc. As long as it's not obnoxious and rude, violating the basic public right for a person to have their eardrums not assaulted, I say to each their own. And the Harley riders blasting down my street at 2am with straight exhaust... that is some serious bullsh**
