Will the C5 brake upgrade on a C4 (1987) fit the stock 87 wheels? I understand the need for a special adapter, but not sure the calipers/rotors will fit the wheels. Anyone made the change?
The C-5 calipers on a C-4 will only work with the 17" rims. The saw-blades will work with 3/4" adaptors and the A-mold rims (ZR-1 or GS) will bolt right on. :yesnod:
Not sure about those wheels. The ones on my car I got for $700 on ebay from afs. They were blems but came with only pencil tip imperfections in the chrome. Heck, the whole car's a blem after 75000 miles. Best savings I ever had. I figure I saved $900 two weeks later when I got my first tiny scratch on one. They work great with the C5 brakes.
The Enkei 16" wheels are required to clear the circumference of the GS/ZR1 calipers and 13" rotors. The C-5 brakes need 17" wheels to clear the calipers on the circumference and only the ZR1 A-mold style will clear the front of the calipers, when you use the adaptor brackets. The brackets move the caliper outward and stock wheels won't clear them. The C-5 calipers are huge compared to the GS/ZR1 items.

Nice to see you guys become Supporting Vendors of the forum. You will see a lot of questions come up about wheel adapters and brake upgrades. Not to mention the recent rise in suspension upgrades. I have a pair of your 3/4" adapters on my ZR1 as a matter of fact.
Anyone have experience with the GS upgrade and 13 " rotors? Is the braking improvement worth changing the brakes. I don't have a problem with the stock brakes, although my SOTP senses the car outdrives the brakes. Could be an operator problem!
