high idle

Default high idle

anyone experiance a high idle while driving but will idle back down after a complete stop. i can go 30 mph without touching the gas pedal. a friends 86 does the same thing. it just started this on sunday. no codes.

could be lots of things...what year?....I start looking for vac leaks....I can't hear em so I use tb cleaner to check the lines...

TB butterfly's sticking, maybe do a TB clean?

Could be many things including: dirty TB or IAC or vac leak.

last year i replaced all injectors, intake gaskets upper and lower. new throttle body. its a 91. it just started this sunday . ive went over it three times. new 02 sensor last year . only thing left original is tps, iac motor newer ecm. i started it up sunday and it reved up high and stalled. restarted ok.

I guess i'd try cleaning the iac and the port it goes in....

Pull the throttle body and clean it real well then go through the minimum idle procedure as outlined in the sticky section above. Will grab a link in a minute
