Default '92 RH Turn Signal not working, may need switch R&R

The RH Turn Signal is not working on my girlfriend's '92 coupe. The LH T/S works fine, but no lights even come on when it is in the RH position, not even the dash indicator. The T/S switch arm seems a bit sloppy when lifting it up in the RH position which does not seem normal.
I have pulled the steering wheel on a Fiero in the past to replace a Turn Signal switch, and the Haynes Repair Manual sounds like it is a similar process with the C4. But the '92 C4 has an Airbag, which concerns me. I have never pulled a steering wheel that has an Airbag.

If I do all the Airbag disable steps, should it be a straight forward remove and replace job?

Thank you for the help.

Yes very straight forward. You likely need the pivot/dimmer assembly GM # 26015119 - there's many sources for it. You can likely remove the rear cover at the turn lever and confirm that's the issue. There's a Y - shaped metal actuator arm that connects the pivot to the turn switch but that's a less likely issue.

Here's what you'll find but it's NOT a C4 column. You can see the lever and the dimmer/pivot is hanging.

Your Fiero experience will help you. There will be no surprises. You ight check a local auto parts store for a Wells switch # SW834 or an Airtex # 1S4664 - CARQUEST I'd think would be the more likely to be able to help with the Wells brand.

OK, thank you.

The Airbag was my main concern, but I was able to get past that and I have it out and the steering wheel now removed.

I removed all the parts down to the switch, and you were right. It looks like it is the W/S wiper switch that is bad and not operating the Turn Signal switch correctly.

The newer part # D6306E for the '94 to '96 model years are a bit less expensive . Is there any way that part can be used in the '90 to '93 cars?

Buy the "correct part"!!!! The lock housing changed in '94 and I don't know any specifics of the differences so I'd just use the right part.

I have the top column housing off now, and it looks like one of the main problems is part # 26015113 (Plate, steering column housing tilt arm filler) is broken off on the lower RH corner.

I also found this loose part in the mix when I did the removal, and not sure where it will be going back during the re-assembly.

That is the dimmer actuator, with the broken pivot the actuator just becomes a free part. It would be unusual that you would need the part that you mention is broke BUT "broke is broke"! You should have no issues with assembly once you have parts.

I have another pivot the actuator that I bought from a friend, and now pinned in place on the column top cover.

Now I have to figure out how the loose dimmer actuator goes in place, as it was not in place when I took it apart.
