You've got a couple options. Exchange if you can with Amazon OR find a D36 that presently has a 3.07 ratio so that you can use the 'thin' gear that you've bought. Purchase a D36 case for the 3 series gears so that you can use the thin gears. The balance of your parts are likely fine but you might check for sure.

You might try calling these guys and try to negotiate a deal. They have three empty cases on eBay that they advertise as the correct part number but it would need to be confirmed by measuring the height and comparing to what you have.

A 3 - series D36 housing should be 14091437 I would think they've been around for a while so there should be room to 'negotiate'. You could slip your 2.59 back together and sell if you've not pressed any bearings etc.

Amazon did an instant refund so i just reordered the "thick" one. Thanks for chiming in.
