You might try calling these guys and try to negotiate a deal. They have three empty cases on eBay that they advertise as the correct part number but it would need to be confirmed by measuring the height and comparing to what you have.
A 3 - series D36 housing should be 14091437 I would think they've been around for a while so there should be room to 'negotiate'. You could slip your 2.59 back together and sell if you've not pressed any bearings etc.

See if the casting information on yours matches theirs. If it does there's no need in negotiating it's not going to be correct.
