Default Bad vibrations on clutch release

Mcleod street twin with zf6.
McLeod Street Twin 64023 00 07

Have previously ran one before, I know they're grabby.

Car has been off road for 4.5 + years. Now back on road, new engine, new clutch, new zf from corvettenutz.

Now car has bad vibration upon clutch release. I never had this problem before. I'm talking about every gear, upshift and downshift. Clutch pedal feels fine.

Could it have been improperly aligned?

It only has bad vibration at the instance of the clutch release. It has no more vibrations throughout the rpm range.

Could it be a balance issue if it doesn't happen throughout rpm range?

There are a number of things that can cause clutch chatter; a few among them is an improperly surfaced or warped flywheel, grease or oil on the clutch disk, warped clutch disk, bad pilot bushing/bearing, misalignment of the motor-bellhousing-transmission, worn or bent clutch fork, bent transmission input shaft, clutch disk needing to break-in...

I have the same issue, just replaced clutch, pressure plate, pilot bushing, re surfaced fly wheel. thought it might to have the clutch adjusted. no change. tried driving with foot under the clutch pedal, releaved som vibration not all. clutch swing arm under the dash came off the pin at the top .now need to pull stering column so that i can take out the peddle housing and replace the pin or weld the clutch arm to the pin. when i get to the next phase that is the folk and thro out bearring. aqnd re set the system.
any other remides would be most appreciated. mrbill_3

the clutch arm did niot separate from the claives pin due to the vibration, it was from me trying to pull the pedal back with my toe while driving. this did not curb any of the vibration.

I dropped the transmission, and pulled the clutch.

Took some pictures and sent to McLeod, who then told me to mail it back to them for their techs to inspect.

It goes out on Monday.

Cost me like $105 cuz they never emailed me a return label. I'll see if I get reimbursed or not after they inspect it.

Read this old post Guy had the same problem Think it ended up being a flywheel and aftermarket clutch assy Balance problem

I'm sure it's possible if enough heat is introduced. This is exactly why we use a Billet Steel Flywheel which is zero balanced along with our pressure plates. By the time you have your stock flywheel resurfaced and the assembly rebalanced our kits more than pay for themselves. Hope you get yours working right.
