Default Looking for thoughts/experiences with PaceSetter Headers

I am getting my LT1 rebuilt as we speak, and was thinking I might as well get some headers on while it's out. I was looking at the following.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ps...model/corvette

These are their shorty headers and I am looking at these for a couple reasons.
1. I have a full Corsa exhaust with bran new High Flow CATs, and I dont want to cut anything up. I want a dirrect bolt on.
2. Also, We have strict emmissions in Atlanta and dont want to fight that battle again.

So anyone have any experiences you would like to share? Specificly for the LT1. Fitment, Performance, quality, ect.....?

I put them on to replace a cracked manifold for the same reason on my 1996 LT1, because they bolt right up without cutting everything up, and they had the provisions to keep the AIR system hooked up.

If you go with them, my recommendation would be to not use the gaskets they come with. Use the Felpro gasket for the stock manifolds. The Felpro gaskets will seal better, and last longer. Do not use the Copper gaskets either, they will leak.

ALSO...........

The instructions do not tell you this, but, they ARE NOT IDENTICAL. The left one has the data plate, and changing the #6 & #8 plugs will require long extensions and universal joints from underneath the car once you install them.

Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. I wasn't looking for much performance gain, just wanted to fix the exhaust leak from the cracked manifold. Mine didn't come with lock washers for the bolts that attach the headers, make sure you use them.

The set I bought were Blems that were coated at a reduced price. Other than having a small hole in a pipe where the welder blasted through, I couldn't find much else wrong with them. I had a local welder repair the hole, and installed them.

You might want to wrap the back two pipes on the right with Header Wrap before you install them. I didn't, and it hasn't been a problem yet, but those two pipes are very close to the HVAC housing, fuel lines, and Dipstick.

Hope this helps!
