"Under door" Do you mean side pipes? If so, GOOD LUCK! One user here has a set but I think they've been out of production for 20 years or so. The Hedman headers are the best as far as quality but they aren't cheap either. What are you trying to do?

Headers will help some, but the big restrictions on the 84 are the intake, heads and cam - plus the injectors and computer can only handle so much change.

That said, porting the intake as much as possible, doing a mild cam and headers with good mufflers will certainly help. You could do heads too if that's in the budget. Side pipes are heavy and you lose ground clearance so I'd stay away from trying to go that route. Just get a set of Flowmaster DIRECT REPLACEMENT mufflers (should be 425501-L and 425501-R) and you should be good. They do also have a better rear y-pipe but I don't remember the part number off the top of my head.

Removing the injection ruins the car in multiple ways and makes it almost impossible to sell later down the road.

If you want that much more power, sell it and use that money plus what you want to spend on power-adders and get a later model car with more power from the start.

I dont think that there is a cold air intake for the L82. It pretty much has one as the air is ducted thru the hood if I recall correctly. For what you would spend on the CAI, the money is better invested in real performance parts like headers, hi flo mufflers, cam. Your kinda behind the curve anyway with the L82 so you might think about Marc's advice about selling this one and buying one a little newer. There are worlds of difference even in the '85 compared to the '84 and each year newer gets a little better.

Put on the performance exhaust parts and enjoy the '84 as is, you will have a blast!

Welcome to the madness!!!!
