Default Unsure about the answer

Hey guys I have a simple question. I did a trans swap from a 4l60e to a 6 speed, I have to get the trans setting in the computer changed to manual for the car to run correct?

Usually it is just the auto trans starter inhibit switch on the selector that needs to be wired so it will start, the 4l60e is an electronic auto trans (1992 on) and i am only guessing that there will be no ill effects with the auto trans electrical connector not being used.

The 86 uses a turbo 700 R4, if you have an 86 you should be right.

The base idle may need to be changed.

Hopefully this bump to the top will get the attention of someone that has done this before.

Yeah well every thread I've seen going from a 4l60 to a 6 speed has a tune included into the things needed but I haven't seen why. I'm just asking bc It was more of a motor and trans swap but the engine has a standalone factory harness and it was tuned for the engine and the 4l60 but not the new trans. I'm just curious what will happen when it's tidied up and I try to start the car. Will there be no fire? No turn over? I have no idea but I know I have the gauge cluster, switched power and constant power done which is all of the wiring I knew to do. If there's anything else I would like to know haha

You will need to bypass the starter interupt at the auto trans selector, the selector inhibits the starter unless you are in Park or Neutral.
By joining the wires it will start.

And if it already turns over I should be good to go?

Yes you will be good to go if the starter engages, have you fitted the electronic speed sensor from the auto trans to the manual transmission?
The speedo will need that.

Yes I have the speed sensor squared away. Car turns over fine but I'm not getting spark from the coil. Icm is new, coil is new, the computer is sending a signal to the icm. No fire though from the coil. Checked grounds and they all seem to be secure. Now I'm lost since everything is how it's supposed to be.
