Default Looking for help searching for threads Stereo install 2din/speakers in Late c4 (93+)

I plan to take pictures along the way and create my own thread so hopefully it helps someone in the future. Im doing a simple replacement of the entire system and was looking for pictures and threads with info I could use just to refresh my memory before I begin. Its been a long time since I did it in my 93... 14 years ... so memory has faded a bit.

Im replacing my Bose setup in the zr-1 with:

2 Din pioneer head unit
ppi 4 channel amp (900w)
Alpine component speakers 5 1/4 front doors with tweets being put into the door panels. Yes Ill be putting holes in my doors and 6" components in the rear
Amplified 8" bass tube for a little more oomph in the low end and fill the sound. Have a 10" bazooka tube in the 93 and honestly it was a little much for me.
The plan is to have much better quality sound and a proper head unit to work with my music. but nothing to rattle the car apart.

Im trying to remember if I can fit an amp below the passenger seat or not.. if not I'll just leave it on the deck. Also looking for pictures on fitting the speakers into the factory bose enclosures. Im pretty sure it wasn't that difficult when i did my previous car I just wanted to refresh my memory. Something I like to do before I tackle a job.

Any links would be appreciated !!!

I used 6x9 in rear, and made wooden plates to mount. Mounted amp on back upright panel, used wood behind carpet, under shade.

Dennis at DD mods can modify your console surround to hold a double din.

Awesome links guys thank you. exactly what i was looking for. Hopefully my install goes smooth and it definitely sounds a bit easier than one of those links. I dont plan to run any gps or factory antenna or any of that sort. Just need power ground and remote to the head unit, all rcas back to the amp. I plan to add the resistor for the dimmer I know i did that in the 93 to eliminate the sys.. not sure if the harness kit i did purchase will have something for that or not. Will post up pics throughout the install it's going to rain for the next 4-5 days so I might have time to begin !

Im trying to dig up info on the speakers front and rear. Should I seal off the ports in the bose enclosures? Im guessing they were tuned for the bose but not sure if I should or not.

I did, but again I only have 6.5" woofers there (elemental Designs eu700)

and I don't have a subwoofer.. those seem to work just fine althought I think an 8" might work a bit better for me

I didn't seal it up, might not be ideal size, but I think it helps the bass on my 6x9.

I guess I can leave them as is.. try it out and then try it sealed off. I plan to setup the sound a bit without the sub in the back so I'll probably hear a diference and decide then.

Will be doing some measuring today to decide where to cut the door panels for the tweeters !

Bringing the thread back

Mike, was your install as involved as that second link someone posted? Going to start my upgrade as soon as all parts get here.
